Benefit Highlights
We believe it is critical to provide our employees with a comprehensive benefits program that supports a healthy work-life balance. One of the most important reflections of a company’s values is its benefits program and how it is administered and supported by senior management. It must protect and support an employee and his family in times of need and retirement; it must foster and nurture professional growth and provide flexibility to accommodate the demands of life. BEM’s benefits program speaks to those values.

Learning and Development
BEM encourages employees to learn new things. As a company, we seek employees who are constantly growing and expanding their knowledge base, and we want our employees to feel that this is a place where they can be excited about what they are doing. By their very nature, BEM’s professional practice areas require constant learning and skill development. The simple fact that our clients’ needs and expectations are always evolving (facing new regulatory requirements, for example, or simply meeting more demanding economic conditions) requires us to stay competitive, attract top talent, and achieve high standards for excellence. And these are the three big reasons why we invest in our employees’ continuing education and professional development.
- Tuition Reimbursement Program
- Licenses and Registrations/Dues & Memberships
- Industry Sponsored Seminars & Conferences
- Insperity Educational Assistance
- Developmental Goals
We recognize that educational development is important and should be encouraged. BEM’s Tuition Reimbursement plan was established to provide an opportunity for full-time employees (with at least one year of service) to obtain additional education or training in order to increase their competence in their present jobs and to prepare for future advancements within the company.
We encourage our employees to obtain professional registrations and certifications in their area of expertise. BEM pays for eligible expenses related to obtaining registrations and certifications. It is anticipated that employees will take an active and participatory role in their respective professional societies through publishing, public speaking, fund raising, serving on committees, and/or as an officer. Reimbursement is made for approved dues, and memberships in professional societies and organizations.
Attendance at Industry Sponsored Seminars and Conferences helps provide employees with knowledge about advances and trends in the industry that are related to an employee’s work activities. It’s also an opportunity to network and expand one’s industry contacts and horizons. Publishing and/or presenting at professional industry recognized venues is encouraged with the company paying 100% of all costs associated with attendance. Employees are expected to share their experience at these conferences through briefings and brown bag lunch presentations.
As part of our relationship with Insperity and separate from BEM’s Tuition Assistance Program, Insperity offers an Educational Assistance Program designed to encourage eligible employees to acquire additional education on a voluntary and independent basis to maintain or improve skills that will be beneficial to the employee. This program does not require employer approval.
- Up to a maximum of $1,500 per calendar year for approved undergraduate or graduate college courses taken as part of an employee’s degree program at an accredited institution
- Up to a maximum of $500 per calendar year for approved continuing educational expenses (including courses taken at an accredited trade or vocational school, business school or through a professional association)
Managers work with employee owners to develop an Individual Development Plan helping all employees understand and apply their strengths and talents and how they relate to the overall growth of the company.
Work Life Balance
BEM believes that employees should have the flexibility to work from home, or adjust their start and stop times, and should have opportunities to enjoy time away from work to help balance their work and personal lives. All flexible work arrangements are to be approved by the Employee’s Immediate Supervisor.
Telecommuting and Flexible work schedules are encouraged for those individuals who are employees in good standing; and based on the nature of the work they do, it is productive for them to work at home or to adjust their start and stop times. Not only does this type of scheduling help employees balance their work and personal lives, but we have also found that it can increase productivity and employee morale.
BEM provides seven paid holidays per calendar year:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- 4th of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day and Day After
- Christmas Day,
- 1 Floating Holiday.
BEM understands the need for personal time off and offers a structured policy where time is accrued and earned based on your length of service, employment status, and date of employment
Equal Employment Opportunity has been, and will continue to be, a fundamental principle of BEM where employment is based upon personal capabilities and qualifications without discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, ancestry, nationality, marital or domestic partnership or civil union status, sex, gender identity or expression, disability, pregnancy, liability for service in the Armed Forces of the United States, union status, affectional or sexual orientation, atypical hereditary cellular or blood trait, genertic information (including the refusal to submit to genetic testing), or any other basis protected by Federal, state or local law (“Protected Categories”).
